I’ve dipped my toe in and out of the yoga world for years, though I never really felt like I could dive right in. At times, I felt that I could never achieve what I saw my teachers doing - I didn’t look like they did and I couldn’t move my body that way! Other times I was drowning in the needs of my babies and daily life - where ever was I to find the time and space?!
I started practicing yoga regularly (note - the definition of regular depends on who you talk to, my partner says regular reminds him of bowel movements!) when I found the benefits of doing it daily far outweighed the risks (and hurdles) of giving it a red-hot go.
At first, I did one online yoga class one day. I feel amazing afterward! The stillness I had created in my mind hung around for hours. The next day, I did another with the same results. And again the following day until I had completed a whole week of daily yoga practice*.
I felt renewed, refreshed, my mind was finding moments of being still off the mat. I was able to practice the mindfullness I had learnt in my sessions in other areas of my life - such as eating, being with my children and partner and day to day (when in the past, getting through my to-do list felt like an assault on my cortisol levels, now I took on tasks methodically and with purpose). I. was. hooked.
There is so much free yoga out there on the interwebs. It can be so overwhelming to find the right class for you. When you’ve only got a certain amount of time for your self care practice, you don’t want to waste it scrolling through YouTube searching for the class that fits for you today. Also, the “one size fits all” approach doesn’t necessarily work for online free yoga classes. They aren’t nuanced to your individual physical and emotional needs. That’s why I offer personalised yoga consultations online via Zoom where together we can work out what areas you’d like to focus on and what your desired outcome is for your sessions. I will then curate your own yoga sequences and put them together into your very own yoga class specifically for you and send you your own private recorded class. Noone else will have your class but you! Because it has been made exactly for you. Pretty neat, hey.
